Abstract

Among the meniscal amomalies, discoid meniscus is the most common type and more prevalent among the Orientals than the Westerns. Accessory meniscus or double-layered meniscus that has been considored to be a developmental anomaly is extremely
rare
and
has never been reported in Korea. We report 2 cases of accessory meniscus, with one meniscus overlying another. It was orginated from mid-houn and attached to poeterior horn of lateral meniscus. There was no evidence of meniscal tear in
arthroscopic or
pathologic finding. Symptom in both cases disapperaed after resection of the accessory meniscus.
